Fiber Artists for Obama Group Quilt
This quilt was made by the Fiber Artists for Obama group, and is currently on its way to Houston, in hopes of it being shown in the “Patchwork Politics” section of Quilt Market. The quilters are from all over the country, and two women, Mary Bowman and Stephanie Scott, from Riverside, California pieced the blocks together. An Alaskan, Maria Shell, binded and quilted it, and added a label on the back that includes the names of each person who contributed to the quilt. Following Houston, the quilt will travel to as many states as possible, before it will be given to the Obama family.
Thank you to Diana Bracy (who made one of our favorite items we’ve posted here) for uploading this picture to the OCP Flickr pool.

I just wanted to tell you I think the site is wonderful! I’ll be sending it to my mother in law and if I have a chance writing a little blurb about it on my blog.

Thanks so much for blogging about our “Yes We Can” Obama quilt. The Fiber Artists for Obama group is so pleased that you have taken the time to show our work! If I haven’t already shared, the quilt is in Houston for the International Festival with high hopes of being shown. If so, it will be in the company of two of my Fabric Mosaics, that were approved. You have already shown it here and I am grateful. It was invited and if there is room to hang it, I will do the happy dance. Wish us luck.
I have sent this link to our members to see your wonderfully gracious blog. Thanks again, Diana
