Vote! Tea Towel
Laeroport embroidered this tea towel for a friend’s birthday. We like the integration of the Obama logo into the “O” and the celebratory fireworks in the “E.”

Election Day Quilt
Mitzi Zohar made this lap quilt on Election Day. The quilting says, “Waiting for the polls to close. Hope in every stitch. November 4, 2008.”

Moving Forward
Right now our plan with the Obama Craft Project to post the backlog of projects that folks have sent. We’ll likely keep posting with regularity through January, as we assume that there will be a number of crafts created to commemorate Barack Obama’s inauguration as the 44th President of the United States. If you have thoughts on what you’d like to see as we move forward with this site, let us know in the comments section.
Flickr user WendyMehndi created this henna design for her friend during Election Night 2008. Here is the interpretation of the symbols:
- The sun, rising from the darkness…
- Thirteen stars for the 13 original colonies…
- A message of Hope, with Peace within…
- Wings of Freedom…
- An “O” for Obama…
- An eye, looking forward to our future…
