Obama Girl Necklace

Here's To You Mr. President!

One of my favorite crafting blogs is Peacock Chic, so imagine my delight yesterday when this post popped up in my RSS reader. She made this necklace for her niece, using PhotoShop, some shrinky dink and spraypaint. Lucky niece. Apparently, it was a big hit at school.

DDOOCFS: Scrabble Photo Tile Obama Pendants

Rachael, Oregonian and math and science teacher, channels her enthusiasm for Barack Obama and her love of all things crafty into creating these pendants out of old Scrabble game tiles.

The second photo features a photograph by Portlander Maria Tizon, taken when Senator Obama made a surprise stop in Milwaukie, Oregon earlier this year.

She’s selling these for $10, with $3 donated back to the Obama campaign. Rachael doesn’t have a web site, but if you’d like one of these, send her an email at rachaellkk [at] gmail [dot] com.

DDOOCFS: Wooden Obama Necklace

Etsy seller silvercocoon of Minneapois, Minn. says that this necklace is “a tasteful way to show your support when buttons and t-shirts aren’t appropriate (and even when they are!).” We couldn’t agree more. We also agree that her offering this piece at a special price, including free shipping, and making a donation to the Obama campaign for each one sold is a very generous way she’s showing her support for creating the change this country needs. You can see more pictures of this necklace over here, and check out some of her other Obama-inspired items in her Etsy shop.

DDOOCFS: Hope Necklace

Los Angeles, California-based artist and etsy seller gruvkitty created this lovely, creative “Hope” necklace as a fundraiser in support of the Obama campaign. Its enameled blue pendant, silver leaf, and small silver flower charm combine with a “Hope” stamped pendant on silver plated chain with beads and lobster clasp to create an elegant piece with a message that will extend well beyond this election cycle.
