Ohio for Obama Buttons
Now this story really inspired us…
Kelly wrote to us with a story about the Obama Craft Project, her mom in Ohio and her button maker:
I just wanted you to know that your site inspired me to help my mom, who is campaigning for Obama in Ohio right now. I live in California and was feeling a little bit like, “But what can I do? Obama is already going to win my state…” when I saw the link to Buttons4Obama on your site.
I thought, “Hey! I’ve got a button maker! And a mom in Ohio!” So I went home, designed an Ohio-specific logo, and made about 60 or so buttons to send to my mom. She got them today and has already been
handing them out. It’s great to feel like my little act may influence even a few votes in a state where the votes are just so critical.
Has anything you’ve seen here inspired you to help out? Let us know! Send us an email at obamacraftproject [at] gmail [dot] com.
Are in the Portland, Ore. area? Want to help us print T-shirts to send to Ohio this weekend? Sign up here! (Please note, it’s BYOT.)

Button Bow & the Buttons for Obama Project
This button bow was worn by a member of the Washington delegation to the Democratic National Convention in August, and was uploaded to the OCP by flickr pool by buttons4obama (Jody & Joann in Seattle, Washington), whose mission is to, “make sure every Obama supporter has Obama flair to wear!”
During the primary season, Jody and Joann sent out over 6,000 buttons to Texas, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Indiana, West Virginia, Oregon, Kentucky, Puerto Rico and Montana! They recently made their 10,000th button, which went to the DNC in Denver. They are inundated with requests for buttons are are recruiting others to get on the “button-making bandwagon;” you can get involved in the button-making efforts by contacting them via their web site. If you have a button making machine yourself, they’ve design some great templates that you can use. (Please: do not use these for a profit-making endeavor—that’s just not cool, plus it’s subject to copyright.) Jody and Joann are chronicling their button-making adventure on their web site—check it out!

This is history…
You may not know this, but Obama Craft Project contributor Penny has been furiously making buttons for Obama volunteers and supporters in swing states. She’s made another wonderful pin, this one with a special twist, for a special person:
Somewhere in Durham NC, there’s a voter-registration dynamo named Louise. Louise is so tireless in her work that her kids are sometimes embarrassed–but Louise proclaims, “this is HISTORY! I don’t have time to be embarrassed!” This pin is for Louise.
Thank you Penny! And thank you, Louise!
