Sorta Daily Dose of Obama Crafts for Sale: Eco Stitch
Not only do we love Olympia, Washington-based Eco Stitch/Etsy Seller Talcott‘s interesting work combining hand printing and fabric applique on T-shirts and onesies, her message—originally posted on her blog—about crafting for Obama really touched us:
Due to limited income I had to get creative in order to support the campaign for presidency of Barack Obama. I decided to make tshirts to sell and then donate a portion of the proceeds to his campaign. So far the tshirts have generated over $100 in donations to the campaign—for which I am very pleased and proud. Of course, many of the t-shirts have also been donated to fund-raising events.
We know that many, many of you share her sentiment and we hope you join us in applauding her (and many others’) effort to support the campaign during these tough economic times. You can also further support her efforts to raise funds for the Obama campaign by purchasing one of her items from the Obama for President section of her Etsy shop.

Double Dose of Sorta Daily Obama Crafts for Sale
First, you must check out Etsy seller Via Delia‘s fantastic campaign buttons. The “O” logo is printed on really interesting decorative paper, which has metallic accents. Each button is completely unique and you can purchase individual buttons or a lot of twelve to share with your friends. These buttons are also being sold at the Deschutes County (Bend, Ore.) Democratic headquarters and were one of the more popular items available at the Democratic National Convention in Denver last month. Delia makes a monthly contribution to the Obama campaign, thanks to revenue from her buttons.
Secondly, Christine (aka Etsy seller flappergirl) is donating half of her sales during the month of September to the Obama-Biden campaign! It’s an incredibly generous contribution, so if you’re in the market for a one-of-a-kind tulle apron or perhaps a set of felt cupcakes for your garden or home (both of which would make wonderful holiday gifts, if you’re trying to get a jump on all that), check out her Etsy shop before the end of the month. You can read more from Christine and her support for Barack Obama over at this post on her blog.
This is a great way to both support Senator Obama’s campaign and independent crafters!
If you are an independent crafter or know of an independent crafter who is supporting the Obama campaign via their craft business, please let us know by emailing The Obama Craft Project at obamacraftproject [at] gmail [dot] com.
